Department of Computer Science & Application was established as B.Sc in Computer Application in 1997.Later in 2002 there introduced B.Sc Honours in Computer Science. In 2004 B.C.A was introduced. Our Faculty members strongly encourage innovation in research, in teaching and in service to the profession, and the industry particularly.
From 2017 Hijli College act as local chapter to conduct NPTEL online courses from IIT KGP. In same time our College has one Virtual Classroom to encourage the students. Besides our College is communicating with IIT Kharagpur to enrol in NDL(National digital Library).
The department arranges for seminars from time to time and links with industry for placements.The department also published wall magazine "Patraputh" in regurarly basis.
