Introduction

Hijli College is situated within Kharagpur sub-division and comes under the jurisdiction of Kharagpur local (police station). The surrounding of this college is mainly forest based. The college was established in 1995 under Vidyasagar University in a place full of Sal & Segun trees Hijli forest training office and Prembazar primary Health centre are situated within a stone throwing distance. It is basically a under graduate degree college. The nearby areas of the college are mostly populated by Shabar community and minorities.

The NSS unit of the college started functioning from 2005. Since then, the unit is carrying out its assignments regularly with utmost care. The unit not only organizes Normal and Special camps in a year but also conducts various awareness campaigns throughout the year. This in turn helps the person and psychological development of the learner.

Activities

National Service Scheme (NSS) units have been started in the college to inspire students in the college to take up constructive social work. A special camp is organized in winter recess, beside normal activities. Regular participation of the volunteers
