About the department

The department of Education of Hijli College has started its journey as a general course department in 2013-14 session. Education Honours subject was introduced from 2017. Education as a subject has been a popular choice amongst the students of Humanities. Education is basically an interdisciplinary subject which absorbs matter from subjects like, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, History, Statistics, Technology, Management, Economics and General Affairs.

The subject gives a detailed idea about the education system prevailing in the countries from all over the world. Since it is interdisciplinary, it has its doors open towards Management, Teaching, Research etc.

The Faculty which comprises of Dr. Asis Kumar Dandapat,Head of the Department and three guest lecturers namely Mr. Uttam Mana, Mr. Goutam Pradhan and Mr. Vivekananda Sen has always given special attention and encouragement to the students for achieving good academic performance and also provides great opportunity to create future capable and promising best citizens for the country.
